Grace Foods recalls cans of corned beef
There is a remote possibility that people could be sickened if they use the product, the company said Saturday. The company has not received any reports of anyone falling ill, according to spokeswoman Dionne Rhoden.
The recall involves more than 22,000 cans.
The 12-ounce cans have codes 100204 or 100205 with "Brasil Inspecionado 337 S.I. F." stamped on the top.
In routine testing, a Brazilian corned beef supplier found higher levels of Ivermectin, the anti-parasite treatment, than allowed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Grace Foods said in its statement. Ivermectin is routinely used in cattle, the company said.
